Some new acquisitions the darkroom has made this daguerreotypists life much easier of late. From Lundphotographics.com, two dipping tanks, one I use for galvanising, the other for fixing. These store in a handy caddy and save me having to decant the solutions into what was my one glass jar for the purposes. For my plate polishing I have acquired a new random orbital sander from proxxon which has greatly improved the polishing. It runs off a 18v power transformer which I plan to be also using running a heat pad for the mercury pot. At the coal face of the shooting plates I now have a new light spot meter. Set to 6 ASA I have a set of calculations (exposure x 256) to determine the exposure for the sensitivity of my daguerreotype plates.
