CasedImage.com cases are made according to the exacting methods of a Daguerreian period casemaker. E Anthony. In his catalogue of 1854, describes in detail, a wooden construction designed to give a stable, durable structure to protect the delicate images.

Cases are made both to standard formats and custom sizes and styles. To produce a case I require accurate measurements, not physical possession of the image plate package.

Passe Partout have the mat window design painted on the underside of the cover glass. Accent lines adjacent to the mat window can be painted in gold pigment, gold leaf or black. Replace broken vintage cover glasses accurately or request a design of your own choosing. Also available are traditionally styled slipcase boxes to protect the glass surface.

To meet client design needs, only a flatbed scan of a broken cover glass or accurate measurements of the design are needed to produce the Passe Partout.

Custom projects can offer exclusive and premier presentations for a valued collection. An example of this is Casedimage.com's work in presenting the Daguerreotypes of Southworth and Hawes for the George Eastman House / International Center of Photography exhibit "Young America" - click here for more information on the exhibit.
